In November 1967, Gov. George Romney released 12 tax returns, just prior to beginning his run for the presidency. When asked why he was releasing so many returns, he had this to say:
“ One year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show. ”
Mitt Romney’s father set a precedent which every presidential candidate since has followed. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has released only one return, and refused to release more, despite calls from leaders in both political parties. There is a reason for this. This man is trying to delude the American people, all of us, including Republicans.
