Morning Quote: Bobby Jindal

During an interview with Politico, Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal admitted that the Republican Party is the party that panders to the rich:

“We've got to make sure that we are not the party of big business, big banks, big Wall Street bailouts, big corporate loopholes, big anything. We cannot be, we must not be, the party that simply protects the rich so they get to keep their toys.”

Unfortunately, they are that party.

Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal makes a little error, refers to “Obamney” care, rather than “Obamacare” while promoting Mitt Romney:

“Theres only one candidate, Governor Romney, who has committed that he will repeal the Obamney----"the Obamacare tax increase.”

In a slip of the tongue, Gov. Bobby Jindal briefly referred to “Obamneycare,” the mocking label Republican opponents of Mitt Romney in the GOP primaries used to describe the Affordable Care Act, in a call promoting Romney’s efforts to repeal the bill.

Louisiana allows guns in church

Oh goody. Now people can have shootouts in church. At least in Louisiana. Via Jason Linkins:

Governor Bobby Jindal has recently signed into law a measure that would allow you to at least feel comforted by the presence of your gun in the house of the Lord. From the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

Gov. Bobby Jindal has signed into law one of the more controversial bills from the recent legislative session, one allowing guns to be carried into houses of worship.

[State Representative Henry] Burns' [R-Haughton] bill would authorize persons who qualified to carry concealed weapons having passed the training and background checks to bring them to churches, mosques, synagogues or other houses of worship as part of a security force.
